Phil Soltanoff is the director of MAD DOG theatre company. He is also executive director and co-founder (along with performing artist Hanne Tierney) of Five Myles, the OBIE-award winning alternative performance/exhibition space in Brooklyn, NY. Original mad dog creations include: To whom it may concern (featured in The Belgrade International Theatre Festival 1996), Strange Attractors, Five movements for people and sound, TIME/PIECE, wrench, Experimental Actions and LEM (premiere December 2004).

Mad dog has been presented by The Williamstown Theatre Festival and Mass MoCA and has received grants from The Trust for Mutual Understanding, Newman’s Own, The American Theatre Wing, The Puffin Foundation and The Rockefeller MAP Fund among others.

Additional directing credits include Hybrid #17 (The Kitchen), Suite for Suits (The Ontological-Hysteric Theatre) and Plan B with CIE 111 (Theatre Garonne-Toulouse; GREC Festival-Barcelona; Theatre de la Cite Internationale-Paris; Kampnagel-Hamburg; London International Mime Festival).

Mr. Soltanoff is teaching credits include artist-in-residence (Skidmore College), guest artist at The National Theatre Conservatory (Denver Center Theatre), The American Conservatory Theatre, The Williamstown Theatre Festival, The University of Texas, Austin and Theatre Garonne (France).

Phil Soltanoff continues his collaboration with CIE 111 with More or Less, Infinity.
